Pastor Jonathan W. Pannell born in Knoxville Tennessee and raised in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Pastor Jonathan comes to Emmanuel with years of ministry experience. Pastor Jonathan served many years as a youth pastor helping shape the lives of teens and young adults.
Pastor Jonathan attended and studied business at Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk, North Carolina. Pastor Jonathan has also studied at the University of Phoenix, Liberty University, Trevecca Nazarene University, Nazarene Bible College, Carolina School of Ministry, Trinity Bible College, Eastern Gateway Community College and Emmanuel Baptist University. Pastor Jonathan has earned an Associates Degree in Biblical Studies, an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice, a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management, a Master Degree in Theology, and holds a certificate in Biblical Counseling.
Pastor Jonathan also serves the community as a Law Enforcement Officer and Chaplain and is a graduate from the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy.
Pastor Jonthan is married to his wonderful wife and Best Friend Ashley, and they have three beautiful children Austin, Preston, and Lila.
To top it all off Pastor Jonathan published his first book "My Spiritual Journey" in 2020, and is a certified SCUBA diver, a SC Notary Public, and a former licensed Real Estate Agent.
Pastor Jonathan has founded Emily's House, a local homeless shelter assisting families all over the York County area and opened seasonal shelters that have assisted in sheltering hundreds of men and women in our community.
Under the leadership and direction of Pastor Jonathan, he and ECN have been awared the "Hometown Hero" award from the community and CN2 News; and ECN was recently recognized as the "Best Place to Worship" in 2022.
